They say all good things must come to an end and today on behalf of Intelligent Fiber Network, I am announcing the retirement of August Zehner, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, effective later in 2019.
August’s journey with IFN started back in 2010, which in the world of fiber optic connectivity constitutes a long tenure. Detailing all of August’s impactful accomplishments and contributions during this period would be nearly impossible. IFN has grown exponentially over these nine years, and August is a big reason why. He has dedicated his time to increasing both top and bottom-line growth, leading the way for new processes and people while taking our sales team to new heights. He has been an enthusiastic champion of our company and our owners and has devoted significant time both inside and outside the office to enhancing our success.
Prior to joining IFN, August worked with such diverse companies as CTI Group, Monster Worldwide, Kronos, and numerous startup ventures. He came to IFN well prepared for the complex and evolving world of telecom.

Most recently, August was a driving force in the 2018 rebrand from Indiana Fiber Network to Intelligent Fiber Network to more accurately reflect IFN’s current business operations and vision for the future. The company’s rebranding effort recently earned national recognition when IFN was named the winner of a Gold Stevie Award in the Achievement in Management – Internet/New Media in the Annual American Business Awards.
Outside of Intelligent Fiber Network, August generously dedicates his time as an adjunct professor of business at Anderson University, a board member for The Jane Pauley Community Health Centers, and on the SBIT Advisory Board for Purdue University Global. Although August will continue to engage students and community leaders following his retirement from IFN, August and his wife of 35 years, Kathy, are looking forward to having more time to spend with their daughter and one-year-old granddaughter in Fort Wayne and with two sons living in Boston and Palo Alto.
